Water supply and demand

A reliable supply of clean water is necessary for the social, economic and environmental well‐being of Santa Clara County.  One of the purposes of the Santa Clara Valley Water District is to ensure sufficient water is available for present and future beneficial use of the land and residents and that a reliable, clean water supply is there for current and future generations.

To meet that goal, the Master Plan will focus on local, ground, imported and recycled water and examine water conservation and water supply infrastructures. It will also align with existing district water supply master plans, with additional consideration for integration with flood protection and environmental stewardship activities.
